Service stage and responsibilities
Assumptions every cartoning machine manufacturers quote should repeat: carton length, width and depth in millimetres; product stack or blister card presented to the loader; leaflet or inner wrap; required throughput with the named pack rather than empty-machine cycle time; three-phase supply; compressed air demand; quantity; destination; delivery window. For pharmaceutical cartons, blister count, leaflet presence and how rejected packs are counted must appear on the same sheet so bidders do not mix a food-cartoner example into a medicine pack.
Ask which product collation, counting, insertion and product-confiner devices are supplied versus remaining buyer equipment. Pocket pitch, carton magazine and closing tooling should be listed as included change parts or as later extras. Installation labour, shipping mass, training hours, FAT witness points and commissioning travel stay as named lines. Software licences for recipe storage, if offered, should not be implied by a brochure feature list.
Discharge height, reject handling and the next closer or case packer are not implied by a cartoner keyword. A manufacturer that omits SAT pass criteria for complete, undamaged cartons at the named stack is quoting a machine shell, not a packed workstation.
